Second Region

Assures safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women; by authorising enforcement of the standards developed under the Act; by assisting and encouraging the States in their efforts to assure safe and healthful working conditions; by providing for research, information, education, and training in the field of occupational safety and health; and for other purposes. Repeals the Walsh-Healey Act of 30 June 1936; Public Law 85-742, Act of 23 Aug. 1958/1 to amend the Longshoremen's and Harbourg Workers' Compensation Act/2; the Service Contract Act of 1965; Public Law 91-54, Act of 9 Aug. 1969, and the National Foundation on Arts and Humanities Act.
