Programmes and projects

  1. TRIANGLE in ASEAN – Myanmar

    The ILO TRIANGLE in ASEAN is a partnership between the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the Global Affairs Canada (GAC), and the International Labour Organization (ILO). TRIANGLE in ASEAN delivers technical assistance and support with the overall goal of maximizing the contribution of labour migration to equitable, inclusive and stable growth in ASEAN.

  2. Safe & Fair: Realizing Women Migrant Workers’ Rights and Opportunities in the ASEAN Region

    The project is part of the EU-UN Spotlight Initiative to eliminate violence against women and girls, a global, multi-year initiative between the European Union and United Nations. Safe & Fair is implemented through a partnership between the ILO and UN Women with the overriding objective of ensuring that labour migration is safe and fair for all women in the ASEAN region.

  3. Myanmar Entrepreneurship and Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise (MSME) Support

    SMEs are one of the largest sources of job creation and growth in developing economies around the world. They can not only generate jobs but can also be a source of innovation, wealth creation and poverty reduction, making significant contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals.

  4. Safety and Health in Myanmar Supply Chains - A Vision Zero Fund project

    The Vision Zero Fund (VZF) Myanmar project strives to realize the goal of zero work-related fatalities and severe injuries and diseases, by improving occupational safety and health practices and conditions in the garment and ginger supply chains.

  5. SafeYouth@Work Project: Building a Generation of Safe and Healthy Workers

    The US Department of Labor-funded SafeYouth@Work project aims to promote the occupational safety and health (OSH) of young workers, with a focus on those aged 15 to 24.

  6. Improving Labour Relations for Decent Work and Sustainable Development in the Myanmar Garment Industry (ILO – GIP)

    The ILO-GIP project aims to reduce poverty and contribute to the empowerment of Myanmar women working in the garment industry by improving labour relations, social dialogue and gender equality.

    Myanmar Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (My-PEC)

    Through this programme, the ILO aims to establish a comprehensive, inclusive and efficient multi-stakeholder response to reducing child labor in Myanmar.

  8. Skills for Improvement of Livelihoods, Economic Opportunities and Security

    This project aims for an integrated policy for skills development in Myanmar Rakkhine State that would prepare the workforce and local businesses for current and future skill needs, in a way that is inclusive of poor and rural households and closely involves the private sector at all stage.

  9. Youth 4 OSH: OSH for Young Workers and Young Employers in Global Supply Chains—Building a Culture of Prevention

    The project seeks to reduce workplace injuries, fatalities, and occupational diseases through increased preventative safety actions by young workers and young employers in Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Viet Nam.

  10. Shan State, Myanmar – Peace, Reconciliation & Development through Community Empowerment

    Ceasefire and peace process efforts as part of the reforms since 2011 have presented new opportunities to work with communities and conflict parties to make a measurable contribution to peace at the local level in areas of Myanmar affected by conflict.
