    The ILO and Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business facilitated a multi-stakeholder discussion focussed on how to effectively promote employment opportunities for people with disabilities (PWDs), including a discussion on quotas, what supporting measures are needed to make quotas a success, and alternatives to quotas, drawing on other countries’ experiences.

    ILO Liaison Office in Myanmar will launch its much awaited publication ILO Guide to Myanmar Labour Law 2017. There will be an introduction to the Guide, followed by Q&A session. The Guide is now available in English, Myanmar and Korean. It will soon be available in Chinese as well.

    On 28 April 2017, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, together with employers and workers organisations, marked the first ever Myanmar Safety and Health Day in Yangon and Mandalay. The event was part of the 2017 World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

    The Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Denmark, Japan, the United States of America, the European Union, and the International Labour Organization (ILO) convened the second Stakeholders' Forum of the Initiative to Promote Fundamental Labour Rights and Practices in Myanmar ('the Initiative') on 29-30 September 2016.

  2. Consultation Workshop on the Development of the National Action Plan (NAP) on Child Labour in Myanmar

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) is providing assistance to the Government of Myanmar in formulating a comprehensive National Action Plan on the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour (NAP). This activity will contribute to the national efforts and the goals of the ILO’s Global Action Plan against the worst forms of child labour (WFCL), within the framework of the ILO Convention on the Worst Forms of Child Labour (No. 182). This NAP will target the worst forms of child labour (WFCL) as a priority, while aiming at the elimination of all child labour in the long term.
