    The Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population with support from the ILO is hosting the fourth National Stakeholder Forum on Labour Law Reform and Decent Work. The event is also supported by the Initiative to Promote Fundamental Labour Rights and Practices.

  1. Validation Workshop on the National Assessment of Women’s Entrepreneurship (WED) Framework Conditions in Myanmar

    14 May 2019

    The workshop is convened to present the findings of the National Assessment of Women’s Entrepreneurship Development report for Myanmar and discuss the draft recommendations for improving the support ecosystem for women’s entrepreneurship. This workshop is co-hosted by the International Labour Organization and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation.

  1. Myanmar Labour Migration Stakeholders Meeting

    29 January 2019

    The Labour Migration Stakeholders Meeting was opened by Union Minister U Thein Swe, ILO Liaison Officer, Mr Rory Mungoven, and Ms Katy Webly, Director of LIFT. Attended by 45 representatives from relevant government ministries, Overseas employment agencies, international agencies, labour organisations and civil society organisations the meeting reviewed the activities implemented in 2018 and presented for endorsement those proposed for 2019.

  1. Workshop on Gender Equality Assessment of selected Myanmar garment factories

    The ILO Garment Industry Project (ILO-GIP) is convening a workshop to present the results of a gender equality assessment study conducted in a number of selected Myanmar garment factories. Ninety per cent of Myanmar garment workers are women who often face multiple challenges in voicing their needs and accessing basic social and workplace rights.
