ILO Convention 182 on eliminating worst forms of child labour

The ILO Liaison Office in Myanmar, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security (MOLES), is holding a workshop to support Government’s commitment to ratify ILO’s Convention 182 on eliminating worst forms of child labour.

In his May Day message this year, the President U Thein Sein mentioned the government was working towards ratifying ILO’s Convention 182. This was confirmed by U Myit Thein, former Deputy Minister, MOLES at the International Labour Conference in June this year.

The objective of the workshop is for the Government, social partners and other stakeholders to get a better understanding of the worst forms of child labour and the commitments and provisions under Convention 182 before and after it is ratified.
