One hundred and fifty nations have now ratified ILO Convention No. 182 on the Worst Forms of Child Labour. This is the fastest ratification pace for any ILO Convention, and moves the ILO closer to its goal of ratification by all 177 member States. Commenting on the latest milestone, ILO Director-General Juan Somavia said "this rapid pace of ratification shows that world opinion has taken a determined stand against the scourge of child labour, particularly in its cruelest and most exploitative forms."
