ILO, US Department of Labor bring together experts to discuss forced labor and other forms of worker abuse

WASHINGTON (ILO) – Experts from the International Labor Organization (ILO), the US Department of Labor (USDOL), Humanity United and the Burkle Center at the University of California in Los Angeles (U.C.L.A.) will discuss innovative strategies to fight forced labor and other forms of worker exploitation around the globe.

The conference “Out of the Shadows: Combating Forced Labor And Other Forms Of Worker Exploitation” will take place this Wednesday April 22 at McKenna, Long & Aldridge, 1900 K Street NW, Washington D.C. 20006.

Government officials, legislators, academics, business and worker representatives and other experts from Brazil and the United States will share emerging strategies that are being put in practice in São Paulo state and in California; promote knowledge-sharing among stakeholders on existing national experiences and best practices; and explore the relationship between exploitative labor practices and forced labor.
