ILO IN ASIA AND THE PACIFIC

  1. Malaysia

    Advancing Workers’ Rights in the Palm Oil Sector in Indonesia and Malaysia

    The project’s objective is to advance the rights of workers in the palm oil supply chain in Indonesia and Malaysia. In Indonesia, the project aims to ensure that Indonesian unions in the palm oil supply chain effectively advocate for their members’ access to fundamental workers’ rights, in particular freedom of association and collective bargaining.

    Better Work Jordan Mental Health Project

    The new fund of $1,550,000 will be used for a comprehensive intervention on mental wellbeing, with the overall project objective of improving workers’ mental wellbeing, especially among women and migrant workers, in the garment sector in Jordan.

  1. Armenia

    Helping Protect Armenians’ Rights Together

    The ILO will provide tailored advice and tools to nudge labour market institutions to build a strategic compliance system, going beyond the traditional enforcement model. Focus will be placed on the mining and services sector given their economic importance, the specific OSH problems in the former and the diversity and size of the latter.

    Combatting Child Labor in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Cobalt Industry

    The project-level objective is to strengthen efforts by the Congolese government and other relevant stakeholders to address child labor in the cobalt industry of the DRC.

    Improving workers’ occupational safety and health in selected supply chains in Mexico – A Vision Zero Fund Project

    The project will address decent work deficits in the country, as well as the efforts undertaken by the current Vision Zero Fund (VZF) project in the country to improve occupational safety and health (OSH) in Mexico’s coffee sector.
