Bringing Domestic Workers into the Formal Economy: Implementing ILO Convention No. 189

Informal Meeting of Ministers of Labour and Social Affairs hosted by the Irish EU Presidency during the 102nd Session of the International Labour Conference.

This informal meeting proposes to address the Domestic Workers Convention, 2011 ( No. 189) from a forward looking perspective. It will provide an opportunity for participants to share experiences of existing measures to promote decent work for domestic workers, including enforcement activities, and will also consider how implementation of Convention No. 189 can help bridge the gap in the domestic work sector between the hidden economy and the formal economy.
