Responsible Business Conduct and Human Rights Due Diligence: Good Practices of Japanese Companies [Summary Leaflet]

The ILO Office for Japan and the Research Department of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) signed a memorandum of understanding on joint research in October 2022 to conduct research on initiatives related to human rights due diligence and challenges and opportunities surrounding business and human rights.

The joint research is a part of the ILO project "Building Responsible Value Chains in Asia" funded by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) which started in April 2023. Interviews were conducted with Japanese companies in the textile and apparel, electronics and parts industries which have operations or business partners in Bangladesh, Cambodia and Viet Nam, and the final report is being prepared.

This document titled 'Responsible Corporate Conduct and Human Rights Due Diligence: Good Practices of Japanese Companies' summarises corporate initiatives identified through the interviews.
