4. Participation at the 3rd Conference on Regulating for Decent Work: Regulating for Equitable and Job‐Rich Growth (RDW), 3-5 July 2013

   The 2013 RDW Conference will centre on the role of labour market regulation when job creation is the paramount objective. Papers are invited to address labour market regulation's ideal post‐crisis form, with a special focus on four thematic issues: (a) Comparing and evaluating labour regulation systems; (b) regulating informal work; (c) industrial and employment relations for inclusive growth; (d) new patterns of segmentation and new challenges for promoting inclusive labour markets.

   Tonga’s Ministry of Commerce, Tourism and Labour is consulting widely on a draft Employment Relations Bill to progressively implement the International Labour Organisation’s eight fundamental Conventions.

8. Know about Business Training of Trainers

   This initiative is part of the EU- funded Tackling Child Labour through Education (TACKLE) project implemented by the ILO’s International Programme for the Elimination of Child Labour, which strengthens formal education and training interventions aimed at preventing children from dropping out of school and entering into child labour.

   On 26 April 2013, the ILO Country Office for Pacific Island Countries observes World Day for Occupational Safety and Health in Kiribati, Papua New Guinea and Fiji.

2. ILO participates in the Commonwealth Youth Ministers Meeting, Port Moresby PNG

   The Commonwealth Youth Programmes brought in ministers and their delegations from the 54 Commonwealth countries. It was divided into three separated by inter-linked events: The Youth Leaders Forum; the Youth Stakeholders Forum; and The Commonwealth Youth Ministers Meeting .

   The ILO Bureau for Employers’ Activities (ACT/EMP) together with the ILO Regional Office are organising a Regional Workshop for representatives of the employers’ organizations on “Women in Business and Management”.

5. Pacific Regional Forum for Youth with Disability

   The ILO Office for Pacific Island Countries has been asked to present as a guest speaker on a panel covering topics on the Post 2015 Development agenda, including: Education, Employment, Economic Empowerment and Health.
