  3. Strengthening Youth Entrepreneurship in the Pacific

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) in partnership with ILO Pacific Community (SPC), Pacific Youth Council (PYC) and the Pacific Leadership Programme (PLP) are convening a 3 day regional summit on young entrepreneurship. The summit will be held from the 5th to the 7th April in Suva, Fiji.

    The KTUC organised its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 29th October 2016 in Betio, Tarawa attended by representatives of 5 affiliate unions. Prior to the AGM, a workshop was organised where workers representatives who had attended ILO meetings made presentations.

  3. Kiribati prepares for implementation of new labour laws

    “The new act repeals and replaces the Employment Ordinance (1977), Industrial Relations Act (1988) and the Trade Union Act, aligns to ILO conventions and modernises employment practices to respond to changing labour market in Kiribati”, said Ms Taare Uriam, Permanent Secretary for Labour & Human Resource Development.
