  1. Establishment of the Tripartite Labour Advisory Council (MOU) in Vanuatu

    28 August - 4 September 2010

    A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the Establishment of the Tripartite Labour Advisory Council was drafted. It was signed by all tripartite constituents at a workshop and signed copies distributed to the parties.

  1. Tripartite High-Level Meeting : Decent Work for Sustainable Development in the Pacific

    8 - 9 February 2010

    This High-Level meeting took into account developments in the region and discussed a Regional Implementation Plan for decent work. It served as a platform to identify existing constraints and opportunities for promoting/accelerating implementation of ILO Decent Work Country Programmes, in particular in light of the global economic crisis and climate change.

    The purpose of the meeting was to review the priorities of Decent Work Country Programmes (DWCPs) in the ILO member countries in the Pacific islands.

    Subregional training on the ratification, implementation and reporting concerning the ILO Conventions 138 and 182 on worst forms of child labour, under New Zealand Overseas Development Aid project.

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) adopted a series of wide-ranging Conclusions in which governments, and representatives of workers' and employers' organizations urged the ILO to "vigorously pursue" its opportunities to make an "essential contribution" to the economic and social development of Asia.
