    The second meeting for the textile and garment sector skills committee (SSC) was held during the last week of February with representatives from the private sector, unions, industry, employers’ federation, government and development partners.

    The event aims to foster the development of human capabilities in developing countries with a focus on Africa by enhancing their capacity to find solutions to specific development needs and to challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

  4. Stakeholders Forum: UK Prosperity Fund Skills Programme for South-East Asia

    The ILO gathered national stakeholders and key partners to discuss priorities and strategies for more productive and equitable skills and TVET systems under the UK Prosperity Fund Skills Programme for South-East Asia Project.

  1. Senegal: Empowering young women through digital skills

    ILO’s Skill-UP project, funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, supported the Association of Senegalese Women in the ICT/Digital Sector (FESTIC) in the provision of training to introduce 300 young women to mobile application development.

  2. Turkish Ministry of National Education (MONE) and ILO join forces to foster social cohesion through vocational training

    the ILO Country Office Ankara, in close collaboration with the ILO Skills and Employability Branch and the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MONE) organized a workshop to train TVET trainers on the design and implementation of vocational training programs in contexts of fragility.

  3. The power of TVET- Skills training for sustainable growth

    Maha Katta, ILO Senior Resilience and Crisis Response Specialist, participated in a Spotlight Session on the power of TVET for refugees and host communities. The event took place during the staring day of the Global Refugee Forum.
