The Social Protection Department constantly develops and shares a sound knowledge base on social protection through the publication of studies, working papers, guides, manuals and reports and the development of universally accessible international databases. The Department supports actors involved in the extension of social security: policy makers, technical teams from ministries, donors, technical cooperation experts, social security funds managers, etc., providing them international interdisciplinary knowledge sharing environments and technical assistance services for the design, extension and reform of social security systems in the light of the challenges of changing demographic and economic conditions.
The social security inquiry database It provides comparable statistical data on social security worldwide. This includes expenditure and receipts of social protection schemes as well as data on protected persons, recipients of social benefits and benefit amounts.
NORMLEX NORMLEX is a new information system which brings together information on International Labour Standards (such as ratification information, reporting requirements, comments of the ILO's supervisory bodies, etc.) as well as national labour and social security laws.
