ICOH declaration on the World Day for Safety and Health at Work

The International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) renews its call for joint actions for developing occupational safety and health (OSH) programmes meeting the changing needs at the workplace in a globalized economy.

In the declaration, the ICOH President, Dr. Kazutaka Kogi, conveys congratulations to the 95th anniversary of the ILO. The theme of the 2014 World Day, "Safety and health in the use of chemicals at work", is seen as timely and as the theme for strengthened international collaboration in this field. ICOH calls in a renewed manner for reinforced joint work for effectively preventing work-related injuries and diseases, particularly in dealing with new technologies and chemicals.

President Kogi expresses his warm congratulations to the ILO for the long-standing collaboration in the field of OSH. He pledges full support and continued cooperation with the ILO programmes to promote health and safety of workers worldwide.
