People everywhere are exposed to safety and health risks from their work. All managers and workers need to think about how to control and reduce risks in their own workplaces, to prevent injury and protect their own safety and health. Managing risks in the work environment reduces both the human and the economic burdens of work-related accidents and ill health. Risk management techniques identify, anticipate and assess hazards and risks and take positive action to control and reduce them.
