National profile

Occupational safety and health in the Republic of Armenia

The profile provides the basis for verification, adjustment and further development of the national occupational safety and health (OSH) policy and programmes.

The national profile on OSH has been prepared in cooperation with the Sub-regional Office of the ILO for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, by a group of experts from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, the Trade Union Confederation of the RA, and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (Employers) of Armenia.

The content of the profile has been approved by the social partners: the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the RA, the Trade Union Confederation of the RA and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (Employers) of Armenia.

The national profile contains information on the legislation, the mechanism of the making of state policy in the sphere of OSH, the infrastructure, the social partnership structures, the activities of various partners in the sphere of OSH, labour resources, the participants and stakeholders, statistical data and OSH indicators, general demographic data, the problems and difficulties as well as the needs for the further national development in the field of OSH.

The structure of the profile seeks to match as far as possible the recommendations of the ILO, however, it includes some additional information that offers a better insight into the OSH situation in the Republic of Armenia.
