World Day Against Child Labour 2021
Music for rights, concert in Milan for the World Day Against Child Labour

The concert is part of the initiatives that celebrate the United Nations International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour and the ILO’s Manifesto “Music Against Child Labour”. It aims to raise awareness among young people and adults on the importance of taking urgent action on the elimination of child labour across the globe. This is even more urgent in light of the economic crisis generated by the Covid-19 pandemic, which could trap even more children in situations of labour exploitation labour as a result of the increase of poverty in many parts of the world.
The following performances will take place during the event: the Pasquinelli Young Orchestra conducted by Carlo Taffuri, the CrescendOrchestra conducted by Michele Fedrigotti and Stefano Montaldo and Maria Olivero, author of the song TODAY, Say No to Child Labour!
During the event, the winners of the first competition among music schools “Musica nella Rete”, organized by Rete SMIM, will be given an award.
