Report on the last activity concerning a massive distribution of leaflets in the concerned areas. The last activity of this project was the preparation and the distribution of leaflets in the areas concerned by the project in Malaysia and in Pakistan.
The leaflet seemed to be a possible easy vehicle for awareness and education of a large number of people. In order to ensure wide diffusion in rural and urban areas, the structure of the leaflets was prepared emphasising images rather than the written word so that illiterate people could also understand the message launched. The images reflect scenes of the daily life. They are aimed at stressing the link between the workplace and the environment sending constructive and encouraging messages rather than underlining possible negative effects.
For this reason simple words like " A healthy workplace makes for a healthy environment" and " A healthy environment depends on a healthy workplace" are told by smiling people apparently living in a sunny environment. Also the choice of vivid colours reflect the same need to show a positive atmosphere. The name and the logo of the local organisations were also indicated to diffuse the names and activities of the trade unions. 10,000 leaflets were prepared in English (for Malaysia) and 10,000 in Urdu (for Pakistan). Affiliates of both countries have found this quantity insufficient and have translated the leaflets into their local language.
