Labour Statistics

The ILO collects and compiles national and international statistics on labour issues, consumer prices, cost of living, socio-economic data and population censuses.

A guide on How to Find Labour Statistics is available to help you locate statistical information online and in print.

Statistical material published in the last five years can be consulted on the mezzanine floor of the Library. The collection is arranged in three sections:

  • Statistics of Intergovernmental Organizations
As well as publications of other intergovernmental organizations, this includes the ILO's statistical publications, such as: Yearbook of Labour Statistics, Bulletin of Labour Statistics, World Labour Report, World Employment Report, Statistics on Occupational Wages and Hours of Work and on Food Prices (October Enquiry) and Sources and Methods: Labour Statistics.
  • Statistics by country
Contains statistical periodicals issued by governments and national banks.
  • Labour Force Surveys
A labour force survey is a standard survey of work-related statistics. The ILO Library has a print collection of these surveys, covering many countries. Links to the national statistics, can be found through the Labour Force Surveys database.

The Library has also made available a database on Child Labour statistics with references to our print collection and links to ILO data and national online sources.
