The purchase, lease or other rental arrangements for ILO office accommodation outside Geneva, including project accommodation, require consultation and prior approval by the ILO's technical, legal and financial services at Headquarters. For the establishment of a new lease, or the extension of a lease, a proposal shall be drawn up by the responsible unit, project or local ILO office with the assistance of FACILITIES to ensure compliance with Office accommodation standards, in particular regarding the seccurity, health and safety of staff and visitors, requirements for access of persons with disabilities and appropriate insurance coverage.
The approval process for new contracts is coordinated by FACILITIES. IGDS Office procedure Number 185 and IGDS Information Note Number 178 provide detailed guidance.
