Calling the ILO building from the Palais des Nations
Dial 63, followed by the internal number (four figures). For number enquiries, dial 63, then 6111 to speak to the ILO operator.

Calling the Palais des Nations from the ILO
Dial 2, followed by the internal number (five figures) without waiting for the dialing tone. For number enquiries, dial 2, then 71234 to speak to the Palais des Nations operator.

The telephone number of the ILO building is 022 799 6111, that of the Palais des Nations 022 917 1234. Since telephone calls cannot be switched between the ILO building and the Palais des Nations, delegates attending meetings in either of these buildings and who expect to receive telephone calls are requested to indicate the appropriate telephone number. However, in view of the difficulties in paging delegates in either building, they may prefer to arrange to receive calls at their hotels. 

No smoking policy
Smoking is not permitted in the Palais des Nations except in the designated areas in the delegates’ restaurant (8th floor), serpent bar, press bar and Room VI (delegates’ lounge). In the ILO building, smoking is not permitted except only in the designated areas (R-2 South, R1 cafe and R2 cafeteria & restaurant).

Programme of meetings by telephone

From 10 p.m. onwards each day the programme of meetings scheduled for the following day may be obtained by telephoning the following numbers: (022 917) 6982 (English); (022 917) 6983 (French); and (022 917) 6844 (Spanish).

Use of rooms

Those wishing to use a room for a meeting, either in the Palais des Nations or in the ILO building, should contact the Conference secretariat services at the Palais des Nations (office A-267, telephone 76515) before 1645 (Saturday: before 1500).

Bus service

There are regular bus services between Place Cornavin (main railway station), the Place des Nations and the Conference (lines F, V, Z and 8). Tickets valid for the duration of the Conference can be purchased at the Travel Agency, price Sw.Frs.70.

Delegation boxes

Every delegation is allotted a box near the Distribution Service in which mail, messages, invitations, documents, etc., are placed. Delegates should look in their boxes at least twice a day. Material intended for these boxes should be routed through the Distribution Service

Registration

Members of delegations and observers should register and collect their badges at the Information and Reception Desk in the entrance hall as soon as possible. They are requested to wear their badges at all times.

Messages received on the ILO's facsimile (+41 22 798 86 85) should clearly indicate the national delegation. Facsimiles may also be received at the PTT office of the Palais des Nations, number +41 22 733 8671. The national delegation must be indicated in every case.

Duty-free facilities
The Information Desk of the Conference will process authorizations for access by delegates to the Duty-Free Shop (27 avenue de France), and will issue temporary duty-free petrol authorizations to delegates entitled to them.

Lost property

Lost property should be handed in to and claimed from the Information and Reception Desk.

Badge holders

In the interests of economy, on leaving the Conference, participants are requested to return to the Information and Reception Desk the holder and clip of their badge.
