Financial questions relating to the
International Institute for Labour Studies

Authorization to accept contributions and gifts

1.  The Board of the International Institute for Labour Studies considered, at its Thirty-ninth Session on 14 November 1997, the acceptance of contributions and gifts to the current activities of the Institute as set forth in a paper already circulated to the Programme, Financial and Administrative Committee.(1) In accordance with the provisions of Article V, paragraph 4, of the Regulations of the Institute, the Board recommends that the Governing Body accept these contributions, made for the purposes in keeping with the aims and functions of the Institute.

2.  The Committee may wish to recommend that the Governing Body accept these contributions and gifts.

Programme and Budget proposals for 1998-99

3.  The Board also discussed the programme and budget proposals of the Institute for 1998-99 as set forth in a paper already circulated to the Committee.(2)

4.  In accordance with the provisions of Article II, paragraphs 5 and 6, of the Regulations of the Institute, the Board adopted the programme and budget proposals for the International Institute for Labour Studies for 1998-99 for transmittal of the programme to the Governing Body for endorsement, and the budget for final approval.

5.  The Committee may wish to recommend that the Governing Body endorse the programme and approve the budget for the International Institute for Labour Studies for 1998-99 as set out in the earlier paper submitted to the Committee.
