Abstract
Activities at the regional level in Asia are designed to complement individual country activities in Cambodia, India, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
An initial regional activity is a training of indigenous professionals and leaders in international and national human rights instruments and mechanisms, with particular emphasis on ILO Convention No. 169. This training enhances the capacity of these peoples to promote and protect their rights, whilst consolidating the indigenous and tripal peoples project's capacity building activities with existing project partners in the region.
Further regional activities will be developed on a case-by-case basis, taking into account needs and priorities identified within the context of the PRO-169 project ongoing activities and research.
