SOLIDARITY ABIDJAN

Dear Colleagues,

The UN has declared security phase IV for Cote d'Ivoire. The ILO has or will therefore evacutae all international staff. For local staff, certain measures of help and support are being considered by the Office, to protect our colleagues and their families. The Staff Union Committee is in direct and daily relations with our colleagues in Abidjan.

A crisis Committee has been established by the Abidjan Regioinal Office. This Committee has created a Solidarity Fund to provide urgent support in response to specific requests.

The Staff Union Committee has obviously contributed to this Fund according to its possibilities. Some of the Union branches in the Field outside of Africa have also announced their contribution.

BUT SOLIDARITY NEEDS TO BE AS BROAD AS FEASIBLE.

To help our colleagues, we therefore organize, today Thursday at 12 noon a collect of funds in front of the Cateferia, R2 North. Please contribute in numbers, thus becoming part to the Office effort toawrds solidarity.

The more we are, the stronger solidarity with our colleagues
