All UN staff living
with HIV welcome!
In
2005, UN staff living with HIV formed an informal
group to give voice to issues affecting those living
with HIV and working in the UN system. The goals
of the group are:
The contribution to the development of and/or improvement
of existing policies on HIV and AIDS at the UN agencies
level.
The
creation of a more enabling environment for all
HIV-positive staff members, irrespective of the
level of disclosure of their HIV status.
The
creation of an organized and effective voice for
PLHIV within the UN system that challenges stigma
and discrimination.
Members
of the group from around the world will meet in
March 2006 in order to develop a clear, cohesive
agenda and plan of action for the UN HIV-Positive
Staff group, including plans for how to expand membership
and work together across agencies on key issues
of concern to members. It is hoped that this opportunity
to come together will enable the UN System HIV-Positive
Staff Group to begin working as a team and to explore
ways to achieve greater visibility and support within
the UN system.
If
you are living with HIV and working in the UN system
you are welcome to attend. Please contact Kate Thomson
