Universitas - Innovation, education and training for decent work and human development
The Universitas Programme promotes the identification and application of innovative solutions to the problems of development within the world of work, and supports educational and training initiatives for development professionals, educators and policy makers. Universitas is a multidisciplinary programme of the ILO and was specifically designed to include the different ILO sectors. It has established partnerships with UN agencies and multi-bilateral donors to bring forward the agenda of decent work and human development.
Among other issues, Universitas contributes to: promoting an integrated approach to human development and decent work; promoting gender equality; linking research and training institutions and innovative development initiatives in the field; supporting social dialogue in local development; working in partnership with relevant organizations of the United Nations system, other international development cooperation agencies, as well as, universities and research institutes.
