Creating local trade union branches in informal sector enterprises in the textile (sewing) industry in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, with the aim to minimize informal employment and by that secure decent and protected work.

Brief description

The main objective of the project is to minimize informal employment and by that secure decent and protected work which will be achieved though:

• Conducting research on current situation in sewing industry and its’ informal part.
• Development of proposals for a strategy on moving enterprises out of the informal sector.
• Public awareness and information campaign targeted on developing self-consciousness among workers of the informal textile industry.
• Creation of grass-root level trade union organizations in target enterprises in the sewing industry.
• Decent and safe work for workers in the informal economy.
