Kazakhstan creates 200,000 jobs as part of state programme

Astana
15 December 2011

As part of the national programme for accelerated industrial-innovative development of Kazakhstan, 200,000 new well-paid jobs have been created in the country, President Nursultan Nazarbayev said on 15 December, speaking at a ceremony to mark the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence, which was broadcast live by Khabar TV.

"Thanks to the industrialization programme, over 350 various industries were put into operation over the last two years alone. Today the media report about this. I hear reports twice a year. It goes without saying that we did not launch the companies just for reporting, but the matter is that by this we have created 200,000 skilled industrial jobs, where people earn much more than they had received before in other jobs. And it is the main thing," he said.

"By 2015 we intend to set up many more companies, as well as the same number of jobs will be created," the Kazakh president said.
