Thousands of jobs created in southern Kyrgyz town after riots

Over 6,000 jobs have been created in the southern capital of Kyrgyzstan [Osh town] since the tragic events in June, the Osh town directorate for migration and employment has told the 24.kg news agency.

According to officials, 8,655 citizens have appealed to the Osh town directorate for migration and employment since the tragic events in the country's south and "4,094 of them have been registered as people seeking jobs, 4,561 were given advice on legal employment, education and training. They were also given various kinds of aid and advice".

"Various sources have allocated funds to create a total of 6,040 jobs: 577 jobs have been created using foreign investments; 593 using funds of small and medium size businesses; 707 using funds of the state budget and 4,162 jobs have been created in the informal sector of the economy," the officials said.
