A briefing dedicated to the 19th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the 10th anniversary of the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) was held in the Palais des Nations in Geneva (the United Nations Office in Geneva) on August 16.
It was organized by Uzbekistan’s Permanent Mission to the UN Office in Geneva.
Taking part in the event were around 50 representatives of international organizations and permanent missions of UN member-states accredited in Geneva. The International Labour Office was represented by Executive Director Kari Tapiola.
Uzbekistan reiterated its readiness for further close cooperation with the United Nations.
During the briefing booklets and press releases on Uzbekistan’s political, social, economic, judicial and legal reforms were disseminated.
