The history of the faculty’s employment and labour department of Economics that was established back in 1992, has been closely linked with the names of the former ILO Director General, Michel Hansenne, and the Director of the ILO Moscow Office, Yevgeny Davydov. ILO experts often lectured at the Moscow State University. The leadership of the Department made a study tour to the ILO Headquarters and the International Institute for Labour Studies in Geneva.
The ILO Moscow Office regularly supplements the Department’s library with new publications of the International Labour Organization. After the ILO Study Room was unveiled at the Department of Economics, the number of books on social and labour issues considerably increased. While opening the Study Room the ILO Moscow Office granted over 2,000 book items to the Faculty of Economics.
