On October 22, Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev signed a decree to appoint Aigul Ryskulova as head of new Ministry of Labour, Employment and Migration.
Aigul Ryskulova was born in Bishkek (Frunze) on November 23, 1964.
She graduated from the Kyrgyz State University, department of law (1983-1987) and the Academy of Labour and Social Relations in Moscow, department of economy (1990-1994).
Since 1994 she occupied different positions in the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. In 1997-2003 Ryskulova chaired the state employment department. Since 2003 she served as the head of Kyrgyzstan’s Social Fund department and since April 2005 – the first deputy head of the Social Fund.
In 2005-2009 she headed the state committee for migration and employment under the government of Kyrgyzstan.
Since January 2008 she has been the co-chair of the council of heads of the CIS migration bodies.
Married with one son.
