On July 15, Dushanbe hosted a seminar on strengthening role of employers’ organizations in the social and economic development of Tajikistan. The event was organized by the International Labour Organization, the Employers’ Organization of Tajikistan with participation of representatives of the National Association of Dehkan Farms, business community and non-governmental organizations.
The seminar’s goal was to raise business community’s awareness of the role, functions and structure of the Employers’ Organization in Tajikistan.
Taking part in the seminar were representatives of the presidential administration, the Labour and Social Protection Ministry, the Economic Development Ministry as well as members of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Tajikistan.
ILO Moscow Office Employers Activities Senior Specialist Shurenchimeg Zokhiolt stressed the need for strengthening the role of the Employers’ Organization in the republic’s social and economic development amid the crisis.
Employers expressed their interest in future cooperation with the ILO and readiness for participating in trainings to be organized by the ILO in order to exchange experience with employers’ associations from other countries.
