On 3 June, Kokhi Vahdat, the main conference hall in Dushanbe, hosted a national workshop on the Impact of the Global Financial Crisis on Tajik Migrant Workers and a presentation of the ILO Global Report on Forced Labour.
The first part of the workshop was devoted to the ILO 90th Anniversary. ILO90 materials were distributed among participants, and the anniversary film was shown.
The national workshop was conducted by the ILO in close cooperation with the Tajik Ministry of Labour and Social Protection within the framework of the ILO’s project Community Development through Employment Creation and Improved Migration Management in Tajikistan. The project is financed by the United Nations Trust Fund for Human Security.
All speakers congratulated the ILO on its 90th anniversary. They spoke highly of an important role the Organization plays in developing the social and labour sphere. Participants also discussed the results of the study on the Impact of the Global Financial Crisis on Tajik Migrant Workers and exchanged opinions on how to address the migration issues in the context of the global crisis.
