• 18.12.2002 - Real Madrid football club teams up with ILO to fight child labour (broadcast by 7-TV at 23.00 on Dec 18).
  The Real Madrid football club and the International Labour Organization (ILO) are teaming up to raise a “Red card” to the child labour in its worst forms – a practice that traps one of every eight children – or some 180 million worldwide – in exploitative, often dangerous work. Real Madrid and the ILO will bring the “Red Card to Child Labour” campaign to Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on 18 December – World Football Day – when the football team marks its 100th anniversary with a match against a world selection team.

• December 9-11 2002 - Workshop on discussing a draft teaching and training material for a training course on cooperative entrepreneurship.
  This workshop had the aim to discuss the content of the draft Teaching and Training Material, prepared by Mr. Grigori Altshul, ILO External Collaborator, to summarize suggestions for its improvements in order to further adopt it for the use at cooperative training centres of the CIS region as a practical teaching and methodological aid for a specially designed course on cooperative entrepreneurship.
• 1.12.2002 - World AIDS Day.
  More than 40 million people are living with HIV/AIDS. Nine out of every ten are adults in the prime of life. Most are workers-providers of families, builders of communities, contributors to enterprises and economies. We at the ILO are striving to make the workplace a catalyst for efforts to prevent the spread of HIV and reduce its devastating impact .
