  25.04.2000 ILO Moscow Director appointed Resident coordinator a.i. for the Russian Federation

  Jean-Victor Graut, the ILO Moscow Office Director, has been appointed Resident Coordinator ad interim for the Russian Federation.
  This decision was taken after the consultations with the UN Secretary-General, the ILO and UNDP Administrator.
  The resident coordinator is the leader of the United Nations Country Team in any given country. This applies for both represented and non-represented organizations. His/Her duties are manifold, ranging from relations with Bretton Woods institutions, and with donors to high level contacts with the Government on behalf of the UN.

• 15.04.2000 April 14-15, 2000 International Forum on Trade Union Education held in Moscow

  More than 400 people from 16 countries participated in the International Forum on Trade Union education in Moscow. The ILO initiated this event to promote the debate about the future of trade union training in Russia. The Forum was jointly planned and implemented by all relevant organizations working in the field of trade union education in Russia (AFL-CIO, FNPR, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, ICEM, ILO, IUF, TIE, UNI).
