The ILO’s International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC) actively works in our region providing technical and financial support to countries in the region in prevention and elimination of the worst forms of child labour, as well as in the implementation of the Minimum Age Convention, 1973 (No. 138) and Worst Forms of Child Labour Convention, 1999 (No. 182).
The PROACT CAR programme has been implemented in the Central Asia since 2005. In August 2010, ILO-IPEC launched the programme’s third phase – “Combating Child Labour in Central Asia – Commitment becomes Action”. It is carried out in three countries – Tajikistan (PDF 2.3 MB), Kyrgyzstan (PDF 1.2 MB) and Kazakhstan (PDF 1.4 MB).
