Associate Expert in Local Economic Development

Andrea Salvini joined the ILO-SRO Budapest team in October 2005 as Associate Expert in Local Economic Development. Andrea was previously a Researcher at the London School of Economics, in charge of Evaluation of Structural Funds in the Piedmont Region/Italy. He has also been a regular adviser on "Macroeconomic and Regional Competitiveness" for the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (DG-SG).
In 2002-2003, he was in charge of the project "Social Aspect of Sustainable Development", focusing on employment, at the OECD (Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs) in Paris.
In 2001 A. Salvini worked for the "City to City" UNDP project, aimed at connecting Italian and Colombian authorities on issues of local economic development.
He has an MSc in Economics (University College, London). His thesis was on policy evaluation, with a case study on PROGRESA, a World Bank project implemented by the Mexican Government, aiming at supporting household's disposable income and human capital.
