Delegation of the Czech Parliament visited the ILO SRO-Budapest Office on 13 November to discuss the ILO's work in the region, and the cooperation between Czech Republic and the ILO SRO-Budapest Office.
The participants discussed the ratification of the International Labour Conventions and the situation of the Czech Republic, the key issues at stake of labour law in the new EU member states (regulation of employment relationship, respect of labour rights by some multinational companies operating in Central Eastern European countries etc.), social dialogue, privatisation and the Czech experience. Questions concerned the legality of work of prisoners and pension reform experiences in Central Eastern Europe, especially Hungary.
ILO, UN deliver as one in Albania: A package for social and economic progress
The Albanian pilot of the One UN Programme will make use of the experiences of the International Labour Organization (ILO) gained in the field. As the only tripartite organisation within the United Nations system, the ILO plays a key role in involving social partners in the recently launched UN reform process.
