In July, the third round of the RLFS was completed, covering over 300 industrial plants in Moscow, Moscow region, St.Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod. The data are being analysed, and preliminary results show that employment decline has continued, vacancies have dried up, 'unpaid leave' has increased and training has been reduced.
Also completed was the second round of the Jobseekers'
Survey in 18 districts, covering over 2,000 unemployed,
examining their difficulties in jobseeking and in gaining
income support and employment services during their
unemployment. The survey has been done to assist the
Russian Federal Employment Service in developing their
labour market monitoring capacities.
