The ILO assists individuals to increase their employability and to achieve Decent Work for All, which secures a fair income, rights at work, social protection and social dialogue, through training and skills development.

In March 2006, ILO Office in Japan organized a seminar on skills development in Asia and the Pacific with attendance of two distinguished experts in skills development: Mr. Trevor Riordan, Manager, ILO Regional Skills and Employability Programme (SKILLS-AP), ILO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific and Mr. David Lythe, expert on skills recognition and qualifications framework. Recent development of the ILO activities on skills and employability in Asia and the Pacific were also reported at the seminar.
