Other Initiatives Against Child Labour in India

Among the UN organizations, UNICEF has supported several initiatives against child labour, which have been undertaken by the Government of India, as well as by civil society organizations. Examples of such initiatives are the Bhiwandi Project in the Thane district of Maharashtra, which aims at preventing and rehabilitating children employed in the powerloom sector.

A great number of NGOs, both local and international, work in the field of child labour in India. Here is a list of selected NGOs with their profiles and website/contact ( 8 ):
