Other Ongoing Activities

There are other ongoing action programmes that are part of the national programme funded by the Government of Germany ( 7 ). These are:

  • An action programme with the National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) on the mainstreaming of child labour issues into rural development programmes;
  • An action programme with the NGO, Bandhua Mukti Morcha (Bonded Labour Liberation Front), on providing pre-vocational skills training and basic education to children released from work/bondage;
  • An action programme with the All India Organization of Employers (AIOE) on developing a nationwide code of conduct for employers in addressing child labour issues.

Note 7 - Since the signing of the ILO/GOI Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 1992, the Government of Germany has provided core budget financial resources, which have been utilized in implementing around 170 action programmes in various states across India.
