The ILO activities in Iran are implemented by the Subregional Office for South Asia in New Delhi
in close collaboration with the tripartite constituents and UN Agencies. During the visit of the ILO's
Director-General in 2005, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs adopted a National Plan for Decent Work
prepared in line with the country's Fourth Development Plan and Twenty Year Perspective Plan.
The ILO works closely with the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and Social
partners viz. Iranian Confederation of Employers' Associations and various workers' organizations.
