Research and documentation

Research and documentation is one of the key areas of ILO's work. In order to synergize collaborative efforts, consultation workshops were held periodically. Based on the suggestions provided in the workshops, various research areas are identified. Following are some of the studies carried out by the project:

  • The study was conducted in four states - Delhi, Manipur, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, through the networks of People living with HIV/AIDS. The sample included about 292 direct interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and In-Depth Interviews (IDIs). The main objectives were:a) to document the overall experiences of PLWHA and their families since the discovery of HIV status. (Stigma faced, impact on employment status, family income and expenditure, availability of care and support services etc.) ; and ;b) to understand the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and children.

  • Perception of Indian Employers about HIV/AIDS - (pdf 524 Kb)

A comprehensive questionnaire examining the perception of Indian employers about HIV/AIDS was developed and a sample of approximately 1050 enterprises was interviewed. The study aimed to understand the corporate view on HIV/AIDS, therefore employers of the Private Sector only were chosen.
