Collaboration with Indian Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (INP+)
As part of addressing stigma and discrimination at the workplace and developing linkages to care and support services, the project has conducted three training programs in Delhi, Chennai and Kolkatta to train selected INP+ and the state-level network members to conduct HIV/AIDS workplace advocacy. Based on the curriculum used for the training and the experiences, a Handbook is being developed on HIV/AIDS Workplace Advocacy. The project plans to conduct master trainer programs to institutionalize the training capacity within INP+ and further conduct training at various locations.
Fighting HIV/AIDS related stigma and discrimination in the world of work is key to ILO's Project. The ILO promotes a rights-based approach in accordance with the principles of the ILO Code of practice on HIV/AIDS and the world of work. The ILO firmly believes in the principles of GIPA (Greater involvement of People Living with HIV/AIDS), and has implemented the principle in its entirety.
The project is collaborating with the INP+ to build their capacity to conduct workplace advocacy training. Under the collaboration, ILO agreed to conduct three training programmes at regional levels for the INP+ as well as their state level affiliates. The ILO also offered INP+ support to reprint the ILO posters, including the poster having an appeal of a PLHIV to end workplace discrimination in regional languages. A total of 78 PLHIV from 21 states have been trained on Workplace Advocacy
