ILO in Mongolia

The ILO has been active in supporting Mongolian constituents and our social partners. In 2005, the Government, the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions and the Mongolian Employers' Federation adopted the National Plan of Action for Decent Work. In accordance with this plan, the ILO provides technical assistance and advice in the promotion of fundamental principles and rights at work, employment creation, human resource development, social protection and social dialogue. In Mongolia, priority areas of work are:

  • Formulation and implementation of employment strategies to address issues of sustainable livelihood and poverty alleviation in the formal and informal economy;
  • Better application of rights and security for disadvantaged groups;
  • Strengthened tripartism to support social and economic policy development and implementation.
