This framework is collaboratively funded and managed by the Australian Government and all States and Territories. It provides the vocational education and training (VET) system with e-learning skills, development opportunities, resources and support to meet today's increasingly technology driven environment. The website provides information on professional development for e-learning, flexible learning toolboxes and networks/discussion forums.

Australian Information and Communications Technology in Education Committee (AICTEC)

The AICTEC is a cross-sectoral, national committee responsible for providing advice to all Australian Ministers of Education and Training on the economic and effective utilisation of online technologies in Australian education and training. The website provides training related documents and other publications.

Australian Workplace

The Australian Workplace is administered by the Australian Federal Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. It provides access to online services and information, guiding you to employment information, government assistance, jobs, careers, training, working conditions and Indigenous Employment Centres.

Department of Education, Science and Training

This is a comprehensive website about all aspects of training & skills, including: policy, issues, reviews, contacts, organisations, funding, institutions, programmes, publications, resources, etc. Responsibilities and functions of the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA) have recently been transferred to the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST). The ANTA no longer has a website.

Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources

The website provides information on the Department's programs and services, many of which include training opportunities.

Indigenous Portal Unit

The website of this Government unit provides detailed description on some 50 vocational training initiatives targeted to indigenous people.

National Training Information Service (NTIS)

The National Training Information Service (NTIS) forms the database on vocational education and training in Australia. NTIS is the official national register of information on courses, qualifications, Training Packages, units of competency and registered training organisations and has been developed for experienced training sector users.

Office for Women

The website of the Australian Government Office for Women provides information on the training and education initiatives in general and on those dedicated to women like the Industry Partnerships initiative and the Queensland Rural Women's Network.

This portal was developed in conjunction state and territory training authorities and the Australian National Training Authority. It is a gateway to many different websites and services. It provides a single point of access to the vast range of vocational education and training information, products and services in Australia.

Adult Learning Australia Inc.

The ALA is not-for-profit entity with both organizational and individual members in all States and Territories who reflect the extraordinary diversity of adult and community learning. They include adult educators in universities, TAFE Colleges, Community Houses and adult community education providers (ACE), as well as community workers, librarians, individual tutors and trainers, volunteers and students. It is partly funded by a grant from the Department of Education Science and Training (DEST). The website has research papers, reports, bulletins and newsletters.

National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER)

This is a not-for-profit company owned by the federal, state and territory ministers responsible for training. Its mission is to be Australia's leading provider of quality, independent information relating to vocational education and training to governments, the sector, industry, and the community. The website offers statistics, research/survey reports and information on projects.

education.au limited

Education Network Australia (EdNA) is managed by the education.au.limited, a non-profit company limited by guarantee and owned by the Australian education and training Ministers. The business of the company is to develop and manage online services that are of benefit to the education and training sector and are national in scope. EdNA Online is a service that aims to support and promote the benefits of the Internet for learning, education and training in Australia. As an information service, EdNA Online provides two key functions: A directory about education and training in Australia and A database of web-based resources useful for teaching and learning. EdNA Online also provides a Developer's Kit to assist in the implementation of free EdNA Online services into other websites and portals.

Group Training Australia

Group Training Australia is the national professional association for the group training network of 120 Group Training Organisations around Australia. Group Training Companies employ apprentices and trainees, and then place them with 'host employers', usually from small to medium sized enterprises. The website has comprehensive information on the Government training programmes.

TAFE Directors Australia

TAFE Directors Australia is an association of Directors (Chief Executive Officers) of Institutes of Technology and Technical and Further Education. The Technical and Further Education or TAFE institutions are a type of adult education organisation. They offer a wide range of predominantly vocational cources. Individual TAFE institutions (usually with many campuses) are known as either colleges or institutes, depending on the state or territory. The websites of State and Territory TAFEs are:  TAFE NSW, TAFE Victoria, TAFE QLD, TAFE SA, TAFE WA, TAFE Tasmania, Canberra Institute of Technology.

Tourism Training Australia

Tourism Training Australia was established in 1982 to develop a flexible and effective training system for the tourism and hospitality industry. The organisation brings together a large number of training partners, including industry, government, unions, private and public training providers, industry associations, universities and students/trainees. The website has some online products like the Language Training Pack for Tourism & related industries.
